What is a fraction

When we read or write a number that is in the form of a number p / q, we call it fraction, where p and q are integers. We can say that the horoscope obtained by dividing one number by another is called fraction. In this, the dividend is written above a line and the dividend is written below the line, the top number ie the factorial is called the numerator and the bottom number i.e. the denominator.
 Fraction Definition Math
Like if we take a cake, now we have to divide it into four parts, then we call it one-fourth

See if you do not understand the numerator and the denominator, then I have written both separately again.

Numerator-  The portion above the line in any fraction is called the numerator.

Denominator- The bottom of the line in any fraction is called the denominator.

  •                     Similarly, there is p/q  kind of fraction.
  •                     We can say that is 1 ➗ 2 fraction.
  •                      It is also written as 1/2
  •                      It is also called 1 Share 2
  •                      Share is called Bata (बटा ) in Hindi then
  •                      1/2 means to divide an item into two equal parts.

Parts of a Fraction

There are following types of fractions but I will tell you seven types of fractions.  In which something is different- Simple Fraction, Feneral fraction, Improper Fraction, Mixed fraction, Complex fraction, Reciprocal Fraction,  and Reciprocal fraction.

 1. Simple Fraction

When the numerator and denominator of a fraction are prime, the numerator and denominator of each fraction is only divisible by 1 and not divisible by any number. We call such a fraction a short fraction.

Example:-    1 ,  2 ,   3 .........................
                    2    5     7

2. Feneral Fraction

If the fraction of the numerator is less than the denominator, it is called a feneral fraction. That is, we take a different 2/3. Now we see that fractions have 2 numerator , and 3 is denominator. We have already talked that the numerator will be smaller than the denominator. So this means that it is feneral fraction.

Example:-    1 ,  2 ,   5  ,.........................
                    2    3      7

3. Improper Fraction

When the fraction of a fraction is greater than or equal to the denominator, then the improper fraction  is called.
Example:-    2  ,  3  ,   19,.........................
                    1     1       19

4. Mixed Fraction

When integers form a fraction consisting of both integers and fractions, we call it a mixed fraction.
                                                  1
Suppose we take a fraction   2 ---  Now 2 is our integer number and 1/2 is our fraction.
                                                  3
When we write the two together that which becomes a fraction, we call it a mixed fraction.
                     5     3     19
Example:-
                   1         5
               2 --- ,  3 --- , .........................
                   3         4

5. Complex Fraction

A fraction in which the numerator is fraction and denominator is fraction , we call it a complex fraction.

                    1        2        5
                    2         3       7
 Example:- ⎯⎯ ,   ⎯⎯⎯,    ⎯⎯ ..................
                    5        4        6
                    2        3        7

6. Reciprocal Fraction

If the numerator and denominator of the fraction are interchanged. So we call this change only, reciprocal fraction. Suppose we took a fraction 7/8  when we want to write it in reciprocal fraction, then we write it 8/7

Example:-    1 ,  2 ,   3 .........................
                    2    5     7
                         ↓
Writing the reciprocal fraction of these fractions

                     1 ,   2 ,    3      ←  fraction
                     2     5      7
                     ↓     ↓      ↓     ←  changed
                     2 ,   5  ,   7
                     1     2       3    ←   Reciprocal  Fraction

7. Reciprocal fraction.

A fraction that changes from p / q to a simple number is called reciprocal fraction.

Example:-    20 ,  10 ,   8 .........................
                     2       5     2

If we take a fraction 20/2, then dividing by 2, we get 10 simple numbers, the same is called reciprocal fraction.

8. Decimal fraction

Fractions that have every 10, 10 power 8, 10 power 5 etc., we call it a decimal fraction.

Example:-    20 ,   10   ,.........................
                    10   100

9. Continued fraction

The fraction written as follows is called Continued Fraction.

                                 2
 Example:-  2+
                                 2
                      4+
                                 8
                           6+
                                 9

Addition & Substaction of fraction

                       8            9           7
 Example:-             -            +
                       5           6            2

  • First of all, we take out the lcm of the denominator and write it as a correct number in the denominator.
                      Lcm of 5, 4 and 2 = 30

  • Then after that divide each number into the new denominator.

                        30      = 6 ,       30      = 5       30     = 15
                        5                      6                    2

  • Then multiply the number of denominators of the denominator by the numerator of the same number.

                 =         8 x 6 - 9 x 5 + 15 x 7
                                        30
  • Then multiply the numerator later
              =            48 - 45 + 105
                                  30
  • Now do the signs ( + and - ) between the numerator.
              =                                153 - 45
                                                    30
  • Found desired answer will be fraction.
               =               108
                                 30
